AN ARTIST'S BIO

Hi, my name is Colleen Kochanasz... I was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. My artistic journey began when I won a coloring contest in kindergarten, which came with a 24 box of crayons and a teddy bear. Since then, I’d say my artistic talents have evolved and even matured. A lot of this evolving happened when I was acquiring my graphic and interactive design degree at West Chester University. Pursuing graphic design as my career of choice provided me with countless opportunities such as becoming a member of AIGA, studying art abroad in Italy, and developing my creative process. I am currently an Art Director/Senior Designer at Health Union in the gritty city of Philadelphia. At HU I oversee the visual identity of several of our health centered websites and I strive to create captivating editorial illustrations, ads, and more for these sites. Not only do I get to illustrate and design for a living but I also get to bring a voice to those struggling with various health conditions. I look forward to always continuing my artistic journey and finding my way in the world of design.
